Darren has been a member of the team since 1999, consulting and providing qualified tax advice that results in successful business outcomes. ‘In this environment, listening closely to our clients’ goals, having empathy, and strong general tax knowledge are essential.’ Darren is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Business, Accounting.

Michelle Grech
Michelle has advised Hughes O’Dea Corredig clients since 2002. With detailed tax knowledge, she advises clients on business planning, structuring and various tax issues. ‘I’ve always been interested in how businesses function and operate. Accounting provides me with scope to do this in various ways by listening to client’s needs to help develop and grow their business, which is very rewarding.’ Michelle is a member of Chartered Acc. Aus & NZ and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma of Financial Planning (RG146).

Lisa Papachristoforos
With an extensive career specialising in Self-Managed Super Funds, 2018 saw Lisa as a finalist in several national awards, including Specialist SMSF Accountant of the Year & Superannuation Advisor of the Year. Lisa enjoys spending time with her young family and contributing to professional association committees such as the Financial Planning Association (FPA) & SMSF Association.

Trevor Baxter
Trevor is a Chartered Accountant who has a wealth of experience in accounting practices both in client advice and practice management. For 25 years he was a founding partner in an inner suburban six partner practice advising clients on taxation and business structures. Trevor now specialises in management of accounting practices and we are fortunate to have him on board as part of our team. Along with Denis Grant he is still celebrating the greatest Grand Final win of all by the Bulldogs in 2016.

Peter O’Dea
Prior to becoming part of the Hughes O'Dea Corredig team in 1987 Peter had many years’ experience with the Australian Taxation Office which included experience in complex audit assignments. As a result, his specialist areas include tax and accounting. Peter holds a Diploma of Business Studies and is a member of the National Tax Agents Association.

Denis Grant
Denis joined the Hughes O’Dea Corredig team in 1996, and is dedicated to the important details of all things tax and accounting related – and assisting our clients in maximising their offsets and deductions. ‘It’s really about helping people get the best results and making the complex accounting process as simple and efficient as possible.’

Dominic De Pasquale
Dominic joined the team at HOC in early 2020, and is at his best when he is working side by side with clients to help them achieve success by providing accurate and timely taxation and business advice. Dom has extensive experience across many sectors including the Construction, IT & Rideshare industries. He believes that the role of an accountant is to be a business owner’s “right hand man” to help guide them through any issues they may face. He is an avid Western Bulldogs supporter and is currently in a tug of war with his father-in-law for his 3-year-old son’s footy allegiance.

Pat Aprile
Having gained valuable business experience in varied accounting and tax roles over the years, Pat provides our clients with specialist advice in related to their SME business needs and assisting them with complex financial decisions as well as more common taxation matters. ‘Having attention to detail & sound technical knowledge, along with listening to people and being able to help discover what they’re truly after in both business and life goals are important in our role and helping others to reach their financial ambitions.’ Pat is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting & Finance.

Karlyn Read
Since 2013, Karlyn has created favourable tax solutions for our clients through her in-depth knowledge of the ever-changing world of superannuation, and handles financials and tax returns for our SMSF clients. ‘I relish the challenge of working in the SMSF environment, and always keeping abreast of changes to the superannuation landscape to achieve good outcomes for our clients.’ Karlyn holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Accounting and a Diploma of Financial Planning (RG 146).

Louisa has been a member of the Hughes O’Dea Corredig team since 2005, and qualification, draws on her extensive superannuation knowledge in the preparation of SMSF financial accounts to achieve successful outcomes for clients. ‘Keeping up-to-date with changes to superannuation and legislation isn’t simple, and that’s where I come in. I take care of the details so clients can focus on the big picture.’ Louisa is a CPA and holds a Bachelor of Business, Accounting.

Olivia Salay Soegomo
Starting with us in June 2006, Olivia is an accountant within business services. Her abundance of client knowledge allows her to uniquely service our small and medium-size business clients on not only a technical level but also from a personal level, creating long-term connections that go beyond the balance sheet. She holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and holds her CPA. Outside of work she has two young children and enjoys cooking.

Peter Bi
Peter joined the firm in October 2019. He is a CPA qualified accountant. He enjoys working with the professional and friendly HOC team and is fulfilled when helping clients get the most out of the available opportunities. Being a part of the client’s journey, seeing them grow and knowing that he had a meaningful input in that development is the biggest reward he gains in his job. Outside of the work, he is a supporter of San Antonio Spurs, a Lego fan and likes collecting stamps.

Margaret Conroy
Margaret joined the HOC team in 2018 after many years’ experience in public practice in the local Essendon area. This experience has allowed Margaret to provide great outcomes to small and medium size businesses from a range of different industries. Margaret is passionate about breaking down the complexity in taxation to give her client’s the confidence and peace of mind they deserve. Margaret holds a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and is a member of CPA. Outside of work Margaret is married with three daughters who keep her very busy with junior sports! Margaret also enjoys travel, gardening and playing and watching sport, in particularly tennis.

Kaylene provides invaluable support to Hughes O’Dea Corredig and helps with the smooth operation of our offices. ‘As with all our administrative staff I take on all facets of administration duties, and love working with a great team, my job is very rewarding.’
